Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week

This week we at DrugStars would like to pay some special attention to two of our charities. Crohns and Colitis UK and Colitis-Crohn Foreningen (DK). Colitis-Crohn Foreningen just joined DrugStars last week, and this week, Crohn’s & Colitis charities are “taking over the internet” in an effort to raise awareness of inflammatory bowel disease.

What do the Crohn’s & Colitis charities do?

Before getting into their work, it’s worth grasping the severity of the issue they are tackling. Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This affects more than 300,000 people in the UK.*

However, it is largely a hidden disease and one that causes stigma, fear and isolation. It’s thought that many people with the condition go undiagnosed and suffer in silence. It doesn’t have to be like this.

Crohn’s and Colitis UK and Colitis-Crohn Foreningen are leading in the UK and Denmark in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. They provide valuable free information to those in need each and every day. This comes in the form of information sheets, campaigns and guides that demystify Crohn’s and Colitis for anyone affected by them. This includes friends, family, medical professionals and even employers.

Consider visiting the websites of the Crohn’s & Colitis charities today and learn more about what they do. You could even consider giving your stars to them today. Another charity that’s also busy this month, is CLIC Sargent. Go read our blog post about their latest campaign; Kid Santa.

If you haven’t done it yet, download DrugStars today and start giving back.
